Success At Sea World’s Seven Seas Food Festival

The month of May was a successful month as we wrapped up the Sea World Seven Seas Food Festival. It was a full month of fresh and sustainable foods, San Diego craft beers, California wines, and two stages of southern California’s best live music.

Anthology Live spearheaded the talent buying of 56 local and regional acts across 10 days and two stages. The event started with a VIP private event screening and ended on Memorial weekend with three days of American Idol, The Voice, and internationally known talent.

Sea World goers kicked back and enjoyed the rich blend of award-winning musicians homegrown here in San Diego. Focusing on the local music scene the California Sound Stage had everything you’d ever want in a concert; with musical palates ranging from blues to rock, bluegrass to ska, and country to pop.

On the French Stage, you could indulge in savory sounds and sweet melodies as local bands put their spin on the classic continental café. Hearty strings are infused with beautiful lyric and the zesty fullness of accordion to make you feel as though you are lounging in a Parisian café.

Seven Seas featured “California fusion” dishes developed by Axel Dirolf, SeaWorld’s executive chef. Food items were paired with local craft beers and California wines. Some of the cuisines Dirolf sampled for his menu are those of France, Baja, Asia, the Mediterranean, South America and the Caribbean.

A number of San Diego breweries were on-hand for talks and tastings throughout the month, including Stone Brewing Co., Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits, Green Flash, Alpine Beer Company, Coronado Brewing Co., Hess Brewing, Port Brewing, The Lost Abbey, New Belgium Brewing, Modern Times Beer and Groundswell Brewery.
